Nichola Scholey

Nichola started her singing career in gospel choirs and musicals from a young age. At 18, Nichola studied musical theatre at Mount View academy.  Then, in 2004, she successfully auditioned for the four piece girl band Blushuk, and that summer recorded and released the album ‘Sunshine’. In 2005, Nichola took a huge interest in working on her own technique as a singer and began Seth Riggs certification program to become a Speech Level Singing teacher and certified to a Level 3 in 2012.

Nichola became a busy vocal coach responsible for The Message Trust bands, artists and all the students that signed up to their creative course at the Genetik Academy. Also delivering weekly vocal workshops to primary aged children, local bands, community choirs and youth groups, judging talent contests and taking workshops at festivals; Nichola was well established.

In 2007, Blushuk recorded their follow up EP ‘Ear candy’ and that year were nominated for a MOBO award for best gospel act. In 2009, Nichola wrote and co-produced the Blushuk single ‘Beautiful’ and won a UK GMA award for best group in 2009.

In 2010, Blushuk disbanded and Nichola joined LZ7 in time for the release of the single ‘Light of mine’ which got in the Official top 40 chart at number 26.  Following that single, LZ7 released the album ‘Light’. Nichola stopped performing with the band after having her second child in 2013 and has taken some time out from performing until now. Nichola has now taken a different musical direction and plays acoustic gigs on keys and continues teaching her students from her home studio in Maldon, Essex.
